Battle Line

Here are a few features inside of this Battle Line review.

  • Ages 10 and up, 2 players, 20-30 minutes
  • 60 Full color Troop Cards
  • 10 Full Color Tactics Cards
  • 9 Flags
  • Rulebook

Ancient battles were fought in organized formations. The leaders of both sides directed their forces along the battle line to gain tactical advantage in order to overwhelm their opponent in the center, breakthrough one of his flanks, or hold their position until the time came for a decisive move.

How will you muster your battle line? Your objective is to create powerful formations on your side of the nine Flags, in order to beat the formations on your opponent’s side of the respective Flags.

The first player to win three adjacent Flags (a Breakthrough) or any five Flags (an Envelopment) achieves victory.

Losing the Battle to Win the War

The reprinted Princes of the Sun for A Game of Thrones is now on sale

“…His death lit a fire that soon swept across Dorne, undoing all the Young Dragon’s victories in a fortnight. The kneeling men stood up, and we had been free once more.”
A Storm of Swords, George R. R. Martin

Princes of the Sun is now on sale at your local retailer and on our webstore! This exciting reprint for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game is marked with “Revised Edition” on the front of the box, and now includes 3 copies of every single of the 60 distinctive cards included in the original printing.

The serpent in the sand

With a full play set for Home Martell, players can use Princes of the Sun to immediately start competitive Residence Martell deck-creating. Home Martell is the ruling residence of the sun-scorched kingdom of Dorne and has been for the past thousand years. Their words “Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken” represent the home’s defiant nature and refusal to concede control of their empire.

Included inside the set are Home Martell only cards that exhibit the House’s lust for vengeance, specially against offenses they take into account unforgivable. Red Vengeance also demonstrates House Martell’s properly-recognized counterintuitive strategy of “winning through losing.” After losing a challenge, Red Vengeance makes it possible for the Martell defender to manipulate the claim effect. By kneeling influence, you can force an opponent, including your attacker, to satisfy the claim as if he had lost the challenge as the defender…in essence forcing him to attack himself.

A card such as Dorne, House Martell’s homeland, makes it possible for you to lessen the gold cost for you to marshall cards with a certain Trait by 1. This Location is particularly valuable if you have built a deck that includes a lot of cards with the same Trait every card’s expense is decreased as opposed to Location cards that only allow you to decrease the subsequent card you marshall or a distinct one.

Princes of the Sun features infamous Martell characters such as Doran Martell, Arianne Martell, Ser Arys Oakheart, Darkstar, and the Red Viper, as effectively as cards for the other Houses. Also included are the guidelines for a “Civil War” game variant that lets players compete for the limited resources of a single deck.

Prepare to excel in treachery when you pick up a copy of Princes of the Sun at your nearby retailer these days!
