The update to The Game of Life came about a 100 years later in 1960. The game was changed to include a spinner and a winding track. Novelty was introduced with three-dimensional objects. Player pieces were also “cute” represented by automobiles with peg holes for the player and the future spouse-to-be!

“This version that I’m reviewing now is the GREAT old version. You have to actually make decisions that have an effect on the outcome, although there is still quite a bit of chance involved. The box says it’s for ages 10 and up, but my 7 and 9 year olds really enjoy it and they’re learning a little about insurance, taxes, making money decisions, and, of course, revenge. “
Before you consider buying The Game of Life, you have to make sure that this is the CORRECT version that you remember playing in your childhood. Hasbro has made a newer version of The Game of Life but with several rule changes that make the game a bit more complicated than it needs to be.
This version of The Game of Life is the CORRECT version from your childhood.
“This beats the new version hands down! All the politically incorrect goodness from the 1960s, fondly recall playing this as a 12 year old in our backyard in the summer of ’64, we all got hooked on the roulette wheel option which was available throughout the game as I recall. The values that built our strong country.”
